I have a BSc in Molecular Sciences (1998-2001), a
multidisciplinary undergraduation course offered by the University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. This course allows the
students to develop their scientific research skills by combining academic freedom,
interdisciplinary course work and research projects.
Now, I am PhD Student at the
Laboratory of Control of Gene
Expression in Microorganisms,
in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
My current research project is the study the stress response in the bacteria
Xylella fastidiosa, a phytopathogen
that causes diverse diseases in economically important crops. I am using the microarray technology to analyze the global
gene expression alterations in response to heat and osmotic shock.
